When everything goes wrong on a trip, it can quickly cascade into disaster after disaster. Letting go of an itinerary and the way things are “supposed to go” by adopting a spontaneous attitude are easier said than done. However, once we are able to let go, we can find beauty in the uncommon places.
The Road Before the Road
First time solo travels are often journeys that can lead to great self-understanding. For me, aside from being an important lesson, it became a pivotal experience as I prepared for my pilgrimage throughout Northern Spain. Getting lost is the best path to finding yourself and practicing gratitude.
